The legal age to Vape

The device called e-cigarette does not produce smoke, instead, it releases vapor. The vapor produced from a material is known as an e-liquid. E-cigarettes were introduced for convenient and easier consumption of nicotine for adult smokers. But the technology has accidentally attracted unexpected demographic. This invention has doubled the addictiveness of nicotine which as a result, is affecting the development of the teenagers’ brain adversely. The addiction to nicotine through a vaping device, the e-cigarette is known as the Jull, has gained popularity among teenagers. They have become addicted to using it in schools, on social media, and at home, unaware of how much nicotine they are putting into their bodies. It is some around 0.7 mL liquid nicotine that one Jull pod contains. Moreover, it is the same amount of nicotine as in a pack of cigarettes.

The ignorance of the health risks associated with vaping, by teenagers id one of the reasons school officials, medical experts, and parents are taking part in intervening it. Therefore, certain rules and laws have come up in different states around the world regarding the use of vaping by the citizens of the belonging citizens.

The age limit regarding the purchasing, use, and sale of vape varies from place to place.  Smaller municipalities and hundreds of cities have restricted and banned vaping and smoking for people within the age of 21.

Considering the use of vaping specifically, in the Emirate: as per the news, e-cigarette smoking is completely banned in public places such as shopping malls, souks, etc. However, as per the Law 15, issued by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the age limit for buying tobacco is 18+. The legislation also sets a penalty of one year in jail or between Dh 100,000 and Dh 1 million for supermarket/shop owners for selling tobacco to minors.

Always remember that every country has its own rules and regulations. Something legal in a country does not mean it will be legal in other country too. It differs.
